Mostly Merlot

Mostly Merlot is an annual benefit held by Cancer Patient Care. They are dedicated to provide social service support for cancer patients and their families in our region who have limited financial resources. There are too many of us who are well aware of the financial and emotional burdens that cancer bears on anyone with the illness. Cancer Patient Care supports their clients by providing equal access to healthcare and emotional support among many other services. They are a vital resource to those in need. You can visit their site here.

The best chefs in the region along with some of the finest wineries in Washington State join together to prepare a night of amazing food and various wines. A six course meal accompanied by an equal number of wines was served to a full house. A silent auction, with donations from local businesses, was open throughout the evening and the evening ended with a live auction and raffle. I was amazed at the level of support from everyone who attended and hope that the event is just as successful for many years to come.

I want to thank Executive Director Cliff Evans and Development Director Rebecca Bishop for enlisting my services for the evening. I also look forward to working with them again in June for the Loreen Miller Bike Ride.

Vin Rouge

Well, here it is. My first official magazine shoot. I was asked, by Laurie and Logan Olson, to shoot the Roll Model feature in the upcoming spring issue of Logan Magazine. Carrie Davis is part owner of Vin Rouge, a restaurant on Spokane's South Hill. She has a great story to that you should definitely check out.

I want to thank Carrie for being so flexible and cooperative during the shooting sessions. I would also like to thank Laurie and Logan for giving me the opportunity to work on such a great project.

Hot Shots

Well, the season is officially over for the Hot Shots. We took the silver medal at the Special Olympics regional tournament on Sunday, which means we won't be advancing to the state tournament this year. I guess we know how the Utah Jazz felt during the '90s. We are a great team that came up against an incredible player. Our Michael Jordan happens to be a high school senior named Travon. He is a phenomenal player who will hopefully help his Spokane Valley Knights bring the state championship back to the east side of the state.

As always, it has been a pleasure playing with the Hot Shots. They are some of the best people and ball players I have had the honor of being around.

Good luck Knights.
